| well lately i've been thinking about my Z's gas mileage. 94 2+2 with 93K miles dail driven and always put 91 octane in it. Now I don't drive much and the farthest place i go to is my work which is 8 miles (16 including return). I understand that the Z gets 18mpg street and 24 on the freeway but it feels like my Z is not getting the 18mpg. Somethings that I need to double check is that 1) Can anyone else see their gas needle go down under hard acceleration? 2) Can anyone see the needle go down a bit when turning or going up hill and then raising up when getting out of the turn or going on a flat surface? 3) When does the gas light turn on for you guys? The lowest my needel has gone is on the E line and well still no gas light... There is no way that I drive 18 miles everyday (I only go to work on sat. and sun. and school is not far from my house) and I pay a visit to the station when the needle is right on the line for E. I always fill it up all the way which is about 14-15 gallons. That will last me about 1 week and 1 day or so.
Next time i go to the station to get gas im gonna record how many gallons i put in and then count how many miles i drive until my gauge shows empty and see if there is something holding my gas mileage down. Any input is greatly appriciated it. Thanks.
I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!"
